27 Mar Scarlet Lies – My New Book Is Here!

Talofa Family and Friends,

My new book SCARLET LIES has just been released in digital format on Amazon. The first in a three bk serial, it will be followed on April 30th by SCARLET SECRETS and then on May 30th by SCARLET REDEMPTION.

The Scarlet Series is contemporary adult romance and women’s lit, so something quite different from my YA TELESA Series.

The ebook is priced at $3.99 and is available at this link – Scarlet Lies on Amazon

I hope you enjoy this new novel!

Here is the cover blurb –

Lies are beautiful when the truth hurts…

Sixteen years ago, Scarlet’s family sent her away in disgrace. She’s been back once – with disastrous consequences. Now her little sister is getting married and Scarlet is headed home once more. Will this be the reunion she’s always longed for? Or will the lies of her childhood entangle her in their beautiful embrace?

She has a nightmareish fear of flying and she’s escorting her sister’s wedding dress through three different time zones. He’s the tall, dark and handsome stranger who gets in her way…

What happens when Scarlet has to go home to be bridesmaid to her least favorite little sister?  Can she survive three weeks of tropical heat and mosquitos droves of busybody relatives all wanting to tell her WHY she’s still single as she endures the wedding from hell?  Six hundred guests, three wedding dresses, twenty-four cake tiers, fifteen bridesmaids, a mother on a mission to makeover her daughter, and one deliciously divine man – all add up to a recipe for disaster. Or does it?

More than just a romance, this poignant story about the tangled connections between mothers, daughters and sisters, speaks with compelling insight and humor, of inherited trauma, desire and deception, and the power and stubbornness of love.

I bought this book this afternoon and just finished read it. It was a book I couldn’t stop reading until I finished it. It had me laughing out loud, I mean really literally laughing out loud in places, remembering how my own mother is and how no matter how old you are, Samoans still expect you to respect their elders and treat you like a child, will voice their opinion of you and think it is their job to tell you, because you don’t know, that you are fat. I loved the imagery, the visuals and the characters, LOVED LOVED LOVED them and can’t wait, truly CANNOT WAIT ’til April 30th bowls around so that I can continue with the second book. I will be sure to let everyone know this is a MUST READ. I envy you your talent and love how you put this book together.

I am active duty military stationed in the Middle East and would love to download the book but it’s not available in this region. Is there a way that this can be fixed? Thank you.

I loved Scarlet Lies. I read about my growing up in Samoa through its pages, not so much the story of Scarlet and Jackson, but the familiar Samoan family traditions that has become a hate/love thing with me all my life–I hate the way the family thinks they have the right to tell you who you are and what to do/not to do with your life, and then enfold you into their loving arms as if nothing had happened! My grandmother indeed sheltered me from a lot of the hurt that went on in our family as I was growing up. She being the oldest of my great grandparents’ children and her siblings, and female cousins (the aunties in your story reminded me of them!) made her the “boss of everything”,–even the men of the family, lol,–but luckily for me she was not one to criticize anyone else…she was the one who told everyone that if they did not have anything nice to say about some, they should keep their mouths shut!…truly loved the beginning of Scarlet and Jackson’s love story…cannot wait for the rest of the series. Malo lava, Lani…

I cannot wait until the next book comes out! I read this one twice in the first day I had it and then read my husband some of the parts I just couldn’t keep to myself LOL!!! Great read!!!

But I’m just wondering, it says on your website that ‘Scarlet Redemption’ releases on May 30th but i can’t seem to find it.. Is it May 30th of THIS YEAR? I’m so anxious to see if Scarlet reveals it to her father.. Omgaaaaah.. Write MORE!!!!

I have loved the first 2 books. When will the 3rd be available? Im in Sydney Aust. I havent read fiction for so long, but couldn’t put these books down (on my tablet).

Ive been intrigued and enamoured with the Sth Pacific since i was a kid, moreso with Samoa particularly. At 45, I am still the same. I dont understand my infatuation with it. Im an Aussie with European parents.

Maybe it hasnt helped my magnetic draw, but Ive had the good fortune to meet & know 2 lovely Samoan men. In my early 20s, a bus driver who was a perfect gentleman. i was way too shy to work out how to give signals for him not to be lol….And now at 45, I got over my reservedness and took a chance, & whilst we no longer meet up, I have a friend who taught me some Samoan that will be handy when I finally travel there (& I will refrain from providing other more personal content lol).

That’s why I love these books….a taste of Samoan culture & life, and a Jackson involved to tug on the feminine strings to keep us reading!

  • Lani,
I am a very big fan. At first I took your books at light especially your Telesa serious because my job was very demanding. But now finally settling and have the chance to read your series….I say, I was very impressed. Not that you made it exciting but really worthwhile the read 🙂 I really enjoy and love your books. Can’t wait to read scarlet secrets.

    Kind regards,
    Bella

I’ve read first book, and onto the second, I’m reading it at every moment I can which involves reading it on the bus to work every morning and evening… Which I’m sure some people are thinking I’m a little strange because I’m literally laughing out loud every 5 minutes. I didn’t read into this book before I started as I read the full Telesā series and ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!!! (Totally gutted when I finished them all as I was left wanting so much more). So reading this new series was a no Brainer to me… And no surprises… I’m loving it! Such a good read so far!! Im always left wanting more!!!
Also the part I love is the Samoan in their, I’m a palangi/NZer and my partner is Samoan and I’ve been learning Samoan since we meet so I love being able to read these books and use my small knowledge of Samoan aswell to understand and practice!!
